Children’s National Medical Center (CNMC) in Washington, D.C., has created an attractive, useful fundraising toolkit for credit unions, loaded with ideas and best practices. The toolkit includes touching Champion patient stories and outlines a number of successful programs:
- Credit union efforts, such as our Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run
- Member promotions, such as “skip a pay”
- Employee giving programs and fundraising events
- Traditional methods, such as Miracle Balloons and World’s Finest Chocolate candy bar sales
Contact Patty Jasper-Zellner and she will gladly introduce you to this great resource. She can also share it with Children’s Hospital representatives in your community to help foster CU-hospital relationships in your backyard. Patty’s e-mail is pzellner@cnmc.org.
- Northwest FCU auctioned guaranteed race entry forms to its members, raising $1,500 from 13 members who couldn’t get into the sold-out race by ordinary means.
- FDIC FCU’s skip-a-pay promotion netted $7,090 in donations to Children’s Miracle Network.
- The NWFCU Foundation hosted a martini night at River Creek Country Club, raising $1,000.
