- Any sponsoring credit union of the Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run is eligible to participate
in either or both challenges.
- The goal is to collect the largest dollar amount per member, per challenge, for the Children's
Miracle Network.
- The challenge period is May 1 through April 30.
- To make these competitions fair for credit unions of all sizes, we ask you to calculate an average
“donation per member” using your total number of members as of December 31 of the
year prior to the race.
- Specific criteria for each challenge are outlined below.
- Prizes will be awarded to the credit union with the highest donation per member for each challenge.
Credit Union Member Donation Challenge Criteria
This competition nurtures your creativity as well as your competitive side! You may tally funds
generated from almost any source of fundraising initiative: car washes, cook book sales, Miracle
merchandise sales, raffles, spare change canisters, etc. Only donations directly attributable to
the pockets of your membership are eligible — no corporate or credit union donations or matching
may be counted. All donations (online, personal checks, or cash donations) must be able to be validated
(online receipt, canceled check, teller receipt).
Credit Union Organizational Donation Challenge Criteria
For those with a different strategy, this competition allows “organizational/corporate”
donations made from fee income, credit union/organization matching, or credit union/organization
charitable giving. The only exception is those funds collected from your membership in the form
of online donations, personal checks, or cash at teller lanes where a receipt is issued.
To participate, simply add up all monies collected in each challenge category; divide by your total
number of members; and email your final donation tallies to Sarah Turner (info@miracleday.org)
by close of business on April 30. Send your check made payable to CUMD to PO Box 27637, Washington, DC 20038-7637. Be sure to identify your tally as either “Member”
or “Organizational” challenge funds. It's that easy!
We hope all of our sponsor credit unions will enter these spirited competitions!
